A Malayan sun bear named Kwan was inprisoned in a dark room at Wat Nong Hoi temple in Prachuap Khiri Khan province. She was given practically no food, and she never saw daylight. When the rescuers came she was very weak, skin and bones, and almost without any hair. She died the day after she was discovered.
