Christmas Card Campaign 2014 for Companion animals in the EU! 

It’s very hard to believe, but the horrible fact is that there is no common EU animal welfare legislation covering companion animals, such as cats and dogs. The result:

• Over one hundred million abandoned and homeless cats and dogs in Europe (mainly in the EU), many of these living in horrible conditions being mistreated, tortured or killed

• The severe abuse, torture and mass destruction of innumerable hunting dogs and racing greyhounds

• The widespread puppy farming causing diseases and enormous suffering

These are only THREE examples, but there is so much animal cruelty that could be prevented – if there were laws.

The animals desperately need our voices to speak for them, so here’s one idea for Christmas: Let’s send a card with greetings to Mr. Jean-Claude Juncker, the new President of the European Commission! Mr. Juncker is one of the most influential people in the EU, so if he gets lots of cards it could be quite powerful. Please use your own words, but be clear with the message that EU should URGENTLY include the companion animals in the treaties.
